Woman Charged After Video of Her Child Licking a Tongue Depressor and Placing it Back

A woman was charged with tampering, a felony, after she posted a video of her 10 year old daughter licking a tongue depressor in the doctor's office examination room and then returning it to the same jar.  This comes after last week's ice cream tampering issues when on two different occasions, stupid people opened, licked, and replaced cartons of ice cream.

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A woman posted a video on social media this week showing her 10-year-old daughter licking a tongue depressor at a doctor’s office and then putting back with the other depressors, according to reports.
The video went viral. Now Cori E. Ward, 30, of Jacksonville, is facing a felony charge of tampering with a consumer product without regard for possible death or bodily injury, NBC News reports.
ard was arrested Thursday and was being held without bond, First Coast News reports. She is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Friday.
The incident occurred at All About Kids and Families Medical Center in Jacksonville, the Times-Union reports. The center removed all items in the examination room and re-sanitized the area after the incident, reports say.
The video comes among a recent spate of videos showing people in stores opening containers of ice cream and licking them, then re-sealing the containers and putting them back on shelves.
According to First Coast News, Ward defended herself Wednesday in a post on Facebook that has since been deleted.
“What I didn’t know was that there was a ‘licking challenge’ as I don’t scroll social media like that,” Ward wrote. “The video doesn’t show that the items were thrown away or anything else that happened. ... I posted this on my personal Snapchat with my 20-something friends, where someone allowed another person to video it. I didn’t post it on Facebook or YouTube as a challenge or whatever.”
Ward tells Action News Jax that she has been receiving death threats since the video went viral.
“It’s horrible. I mean, I’m scared for my kids, especially, my oldest that’s out and on her own since they posted her photo,” she said.
