Beer Can Chicken Beer

Wow, here's a thing...beer designed specifically for cooking chicken on grill using the beer-can-cooking technique. Pretty sure I do not want to drink beer with rosemary and thyme in it (may think otherwise after giving it a sip), but would be willing to give it a try when cooking a bird on the grill. Let me know if you have tried it.

Perdue partners with Torch & Crown Brewing Co. to create Perdue Beer Can Chicken Beer -- for the chicken and the cook.
Dave Fusaro

For summer grilling season, Perdue partnered with Torch & Crown Brewing Co. to create Perdue Beer Can Chicken Beer. The honey double-citrus summer ale is brewed with classic grilled chicken seasonings like rosemary, thyme and pink peppercorn to help backyard grillers make the perfect beer can chicken – and it can be sipped while the chicken is burning on your grill.

For the uninitiated: It’s a method of indirect grilling that involves pouring beer into a food-grade roasting stand or inserting a can into the hollowed-out carcass and then standing a chicken upright and cooking it using a grill or smoker. Not only does the brew infuse the bird with flavor, marinating it from the inside out, but it keeps the chicken moist and tender during the cooking process.

One can for the bird, one for the cook.
