Mislabeling of Chocolate Bars - Theo Chocolate of Seattle, WA is voluntarily recalling 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate bars (UPC 8 74492 00325 8) because they may contain undeclared milk. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that a small number of 3oz Salted Toffee Dark Chocolate bars were mis-labeled with 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate labels and shipped to select distributors, retail stores and consumers. The toffee contains butter, which is a milk allergen, but the 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate label does not declare milk.
Forgot to Put Egg on the Label - Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters Inc. of Spokane, WA is recalling 15 loaves of Blueberry Bread because it may contain undeclared EGG. There are no expiration dates or lot codes on label and product has a 5-day shelf life. NO illness has been reported to date. The recall was initiated after it was discovered during a routine inspection, the product containing EGG was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of EGG.

WASHINGTON, March 30, 2019 – Market of Choice, Inc., an Eugene, Ore. establishment, is recalling approximately 1,094 pounds of pork and poultry pâté products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain milk and soy, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label.
The pork and poultry pâté items were produced on various dates prior to March 26, 2019. The products have a 30-day shelf life. The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]
5-oz. packages containing slices of “Market of Choice Country Pâté” and sell by dates prior to and including 04/25/19.
5-oz. packages containing slices of “Market of Choice Chicken Pâté with Rosemary & Lemon” with sell by dates prior to and including 04/25/19.
Whole terrine bulk packages containing “Market of Choice NORTHWEST GAME PATE” with sell by dates prior to and including 04/25/19.
Terrine bulk packages containing “COUNTRY PORK & PISTACHIO PATE MARKET OF CHOICE” with sell by dates prior to and including 04/25/19.
Terrine bulk packages containing “LEMON CHICKEN & ROSEMARY PATE MARKET OF CHOICE” with sell by dates prior to and including 04/25/19.
These items were shipped to Market of Choice retail locations in Oregon.
The problem was discovered when Market of Choice reported to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Oregon Department of Agriculture the undeclared allergens. The FDA notified FSIS, which has jurisdiction over the pork and poultry pate products.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.

Theo Chocolate of Seattle, WA is voluntarily recalling 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate bars (UPC 8 74492 00325 8) because they may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The affected product features lot code 3092529 with a Best-By date of 1/2020. The lot code and Best-By date are found on the back side of the bar’s packaging.
No illnesses have been reported to-date.
The affected product was distributed nationwide to select retailers from January 30th, 2019 to March 11th, 2019.
No other product sold under the Theo Chocolate brand is affected by the recall.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that a small number of 3oz Salted Toffee Dark Chocolate bars were mis-labeled with 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate labels and shipped to select distributors, retail stores and consumers. The toffee contains butter, which is a milk allergen, but the 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate label does not declare milk.
“As soon as this error was discovered, we took immediate action and corrected the packaging process. We believe less than 150 incorrectly packaged bars were distributed, and we are working with distributors and retailers to secure them. Out of an abundance of caution, we are voluntarily recalling the product for the awareness and safety of our customers,” said Etienne Patout, CEO.
Consumers who have the 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate bars with the affected lot code 3092529 with a Best-By date of 1/2020 and have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, should not consume the product and immediately dispose of the product.
For retailers, sale of Theo Chocolate 3oz Sea Salt 70% Dark Chocolate with lot code 3092529 and a Best-By date of 1/2020 should stop immediately. Product should be removed from shelves and disposed.
This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters Inc. of Spokane, WA is recalling 15 loaves of Blueberry Bread because it may contain undeclared EGG. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Blueberry Bread was distributed and sold at Thomas Hammer Coffee retail shops in WA and Coeur d’Alene, ID via company owned delivery vehicles.
Bread was sold as slices wrapped individually in food grade pastry bags, 3.7oz net weight, between the dates of 03/25/2019 – 03/26/2019 and were pulled from stores in the morning of 03/27/2019. There are no expiration dates or lot codes on label and product has a 5-day shelf life.
NO illness has been reported to date.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered during a routine inspection, the product containing EGG was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of EGG.
This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Washington State Department of Agriculture and U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Consumers who have purchased a Blueberry Bread slice from Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters retail locations and have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
