Co-Pack Customer Discover's Label Issue - VICS Acquisition, LLC, a Harlingen, Texas, establishment, is recalling approximately 99,975 pounds of chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens - the products contain eggs, a known allergen, that is not declared on the product label.  A company that VICS Acquisition, LLC co-packs for discovered the problem on Feb. 8, 2019 during a label review.

Cashews Missing on New Label - Birdseed Food CO. of Bend, OR is recalling Craft Granola Goldenola Turmeric & Ginger that was sold between the dates of 10/03/18 - 02/07/19, because it contains undeclared cashews. The mislabeling of the product happened upon attaining new packaging in October 2018 and the firm became aware of the issue via customer email.

Watch Those Therapeutic Claims - Felt, OK, McDaniel Life-Line LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of Indian Herb to the consumer level. This product is being recalled because it is marketed without an approved NDA/ANDA. The therapeutic claims made in the labeling for this product establish that it is a drug because it is an article (other than food) intended to affect the structure or any function of the body.  Additionally, the product contains ingredients that the Agency has determined to be caustic in nature that can cause serious injury.

Wrong Potato Chip Bag - Frito-Lay announced a limited voluntary recall of a very small number of 7 1/3 oz. bags of Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips because they may contain undeclared milk ingredients. The recall was initiated after it was discovered that 228 bags of Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips were inadvertently filled with another flavor of pita chips, potentially exposing consumers to undeclared milk.

Hipster Chipster Label Missing Allergens - The Santa Rosa Whole Foods Market store is voluntarily recalling eight packages of its “Hipster Chipster” cookies because they contain undeclared tree nut (walnut), milk, and egg allergens that were not listed on the product label.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10, 2019 – VICS Acquisition, LLC, a Harlingen, Texas, establishment, is recalling approximately 99,975 pounds of chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain eggs, a known allergen, that is not declared on the product label.
The happi foodi Bloody Mary Inspired Chicken, Southeast Grocers Brand Marsala Chicken and Southeast Grocers Brand Mediterranean Herb Chicken items were produced from Aug. 7 through Oct.15, 2018. The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]
1.5-lb. packages containing one frozen steam bag meal of “happi foodi BLOODY MARY INSPIRED CHICKEN” with lot codes 14528 and 15092 and use by dates of March 2, 2020 and April 15, 2020.
1.5-lb. packages containing one frozen steam bag meal of “SE Grocers MARSALA CHICKEN” with lot codes 14177 and 14532 and use by dates of Feb. 8, 2020 and March 3, 2020.
1.5-lb. packages containing one frozen steam bag meal of “SE Grocers MEDITERRANEAN STYLE HERB CHICKEN” with lot codes 14145 and 14531 and use by dates of Feb. 7, 2020 and March 4, 2020.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-34622” on the product packaging. The happi foodi items were shipped to retail locations nationwide and the Southeast Grocers Brand products were shipped to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.                               
A company that VICS Acquisition, LLC co-packs for discovered the problem on Feb. 8, 2019 during a label review. FSIS was notified on Feb. 9, 2019.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. 
FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers or refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms are notifying their customers of the recall and that actions are being taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.

Birdseed Food CO. of Bend, OR is recalling Craft Granola Goldenola Turmeric & Ginger that was sold between the dates of 10/03/18 - 02/07/19, because it contains undeclared cashews. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
Craft Granola Goldenola Turmeric & Ginger was distributed in CA, CT, MD, NY, OR and PA at retail stores (https://www.birdseedfoodco.com/pages/where-to-find) as well as sold online through https://www.birdseedfoodco.com/collections/all, https://getintothebubble.com/, and https://www.farmtopeople.com/
The product can be identified as the yellow bag, net weight 11oz and 3oz, packaging with all expiration dates and includues up to 061419.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem as of 02/07/19.
The mislabeling of the product happened upon attaining new packaging in October 2018 and the firm became aware of the issue via customer email. Moving forward the cashew ingredient will be removed from recipe.

Felt, OK, McDaniel Life-Line LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of Indian Herb to the consumer level. This product is being recalled because it is marketed without an approved NDA/ANDA. The therapeutic claims made in the labeling for this product establish that it is a drug because it is an article (other than food) intended to affect the structure or any function of the body.  Additionally, the product contains ingredients that the Agency has determined to be caustic in nature that can cause serious injury.
Use of the product could result in temporary or permanent damage or loss of body function or structure.  To date, McDaniel Life-Line LLC has received a report of one adverse injury.
The product can be taken internally or applied externally to abnormal skin growths. The product is  packaged in 6 dram vials. The affected Indian Herb includes all lots.  Product was distributed in the United States, Italy, Canada, Australia and Poland to individuals via internet sales@lifelinewater.com.
McDaniel Life-Line LLC is notifying its customers by press release of the recalled product. Consumers that have product which is being recalled should stop using and discard.

Frito-Lay announced a limited voluntary recall of a very small number of 7 1/3 oz. bags of Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips because they may contain undeclared milk ingredients. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product contained inside the recalled pita chips bags.

The recalled products are 7 1/3 oz. bags of Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips that were distributed nationwide and have both a “Use By” date of 23 APR 2019 and a nine-character manufacturing code of “65M127902” listed below the “Use By” date. These numbers can be found on the front of the bag along the top right side. In addition, the recalled bags will also have a UPC code of “028400564632” listed on the bottom right side of the back of the bag.

No other Stacy’s products or flavors are recalled.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that 228 bags of Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips were inadvertently filled with another flavor of pita chips, potentially exposing consumers to undeclared milk.

One consumer allergic reaction related to this matter has been reported to date.

Frito-Lay has informed the FDA of our actions.

Consumers with the product noted above can return the product to a retailer for a refund or contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday).

The Santa Rosa Whole Foods Market store is voluntarily recalling eight packages of its “Hipster Chipster” cookies because they contain undeclared tree nut (walnut), milk, and egg allergens that were not listed on the product label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The “Hipster Chipster” cookies were distributed at the Whole Foods Market at 1181 Yulupa Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95405. The bakery products were available in a six-pack size with UPC code 0247449 006990 with sell-by dates through 02/04/19. All affected product has been removed from store shelves.

One allergic reaction has been reported to date. The recall was initiated when the customer experienced an allergic reaction and notified the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Customers who purchased this product at Whole Foods Market can bring a valid receipt into stores for a full refund. Consumers with additional questions can call 1-844-936-8255 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, or 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.
