CRF Recall Triggers Recalls by Additional Processors and Retailers

A number of other packers of frozen foods issued recalls after an ingredient supplier, CRF issued a recall last week.  What started off as a massive recall continues to get bigger as product produced by CRF was repacked by other frozen food companies.

The list below in includes recalls from Stahlbush Island Farms, Harris Teeter, Twin Cities, Pictsweet, and NORPAC.

Stahlbush Island Farms, Inc. Recalls IQF Green Beans Because Of Possible Health Risk
May 6, 2016
Stahlbush Island Farms, Inc. (SIFI) of Corvallis, Ore., is voluntarily recalling 10 oz. Stahlbush® IQF Green Bean retail packages because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after SIFI was notified by the supplier of the green beans that the supplier had issued a recall of the green beans.

Harris Teeter Voluntarily Recalls Harris Teeter Frozen Organic Corn and Harris Teeter Frozen Mixed Vegetables

Out of an abundance of caution, Harris Teeter is voluntarily recalling Harris Teeter Frozen Organic Corn and Harris Teeter Frozen Mixed Vegetables due to the potential for these products to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Harris Teeter was notified by Seabrook Brothers, the manufacturer of these products, may have used vegetables that are part of the recent CRF Frozen Foods recall.

Twin City Foods, Inc. Recalls Frozen Organic Peas And Mixed Vegetables Because Of Possible Health Risk

As part of the ongoing recall of CRF Frozen Foods vegetables, Twin City Foods, Inc. of Stanwood, Washington is voluntarily recalling items containing organic peas it received from CRF Frozen Foods. These products include Central Market Organic Peas and Mixed Vegetables, HEB Organic Mixed Vegetables, Sweetfrost Mixed Vegetables, and Woodstock Organic Mixed Vegetables due to the potential for these products to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Pictsweet Company Notifies Consumers that Select Kroger Brand Frozen Vegetables Shipped into the Western US are Included in Previously Announced Recall

BELLS, TN: As part of the on-going CRF Frozen Foods recall, The Pictsweet Company is notifying consumers that certain Kroger brand frozen vegetable sold in Fry’s, King Soopers, City Market, Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Smith’s, QFC, and Fred Meyer are included in the recall announced Friday, May 6. These products were packaged by The Pictsweet Company and contain Green Beans or Green Peas recently recalled by CRF Frozen Foods due to a health risk.
On May 5th CRF Frozen Foods informed Pictsweet they were initiating a recall on all lots of Green Beans and Green Peas supplied to Pictsweet due to the potential risk they may contain Listeria monocytogenes (Lm),an organism that is widespread in the environment.

NORPAC Foods, Inc. Recalls Natural Directions Organic Mixed Vegetables, And Natural Directions Organic Green Peas, Due To Possible Health Risk
May 9, 2016
NORPAC Foods, Inc. of Salem, Oregon is voluntarily recalling two (2) frozen private label vegetable items, Natural Directions Organic Mixed Vegetables and Natural Directions Organic Green Peas, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

This voluntary action is being undertaken because the recalled products contain vegetables that were purchased from CRF Frozen Foods and are part of the recent CRF Frozen Foods recall.
